Social Action

The Pelham Jewish Center is actively involved in several ongoing social action projects.  We conduct a Midnight Run and a Breakfast Run through midnightrun.org, providing food, clothing and personal items to needy people in New York City.  The PJC hosts biannual blood drives for the New York Blood Center and, along with all other Pelham houses of worship, we participate in the Thanksgiving in a Box project.  We work with the Bronx Jewish Community Council on several projects, including Project Hope and their food pantry, which provide help to needy Bronx residents.  The Pelham Jewish Center is committed to support of refugees and in a joint project with Hearts and Homes for Refugees and other local houses of worship we have supported the resettlement of multiple refugee families. We also have a Green Committee.
