In Kitah Alef, students will begin to approach the material as scholars. By using some in-depth methods of Torah study, students will delve into the narratives of Genesis from Creation to the Joseph stories. There will be greater emphasis on mastering Hebrew decoding skills, as well as building a vocabulary of useful words. Students will begin a deeper exploration of the meaning of God in our lives; learn about Israel with the goal of making a personal connection; understand general concepts of prayer and its place in our living world and how Tzedakah(righteous Giving) and Tikkun Olam (making the world a better place) are connected to our Torah.
