HIGH SCHOOL - (8th-12th Grades)
1 DAY A WEEK/Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Morah Susan Mindick Rose, Rabbi Alex Salzberg, Dr. Zach Mann (Willow Towers Project)
At the Learning Center, we engage teenagers in a variety of ways. Through discussions, debates, leadership seminars, themed series, films and Social Action projects, we strive to actively connect our students to their Jewish identity and offer different avenues for them to become leaders and role models in our community. Students are offered learning experiences in broad areas, such as Bible and Jewish Law, Israel and Hebrew, Social Action & Leadership and Current Events through the Jewish lens. Students start their evenings with a dinner of salad, soft drinks and pizza -- "nosh and drosh" -- while socializing in a casual setting and engaging in discussions about current events that impact the Jewish Community. Our High School students actively engage in Social Action & Leadership through the Midnight Run Project, which is held three times a year and encompasses different opportunities for students to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of homeless people in NYC.
